What are your lived experiences that, when woven together, tell the story of your healing?

What are your half-truths that, when buried beneath the full story, result in self-shame?

What are your whole truths that, when gathered into a bunch, reveal the full complexity of your journey, your transformation, your spiritual evolution?

STRAND BY STRAND: HOW TO BUILD THE BRAIDED ESSAY is a 2-part Roots. Wounds. Words. community workshop wherein participating storytellers receive six hours of instruction, enabling them to draft their own braided essays. During our time together, storytellers will learn the components of the braided essay, will excavate lived experiences, will identify pertinent strands that, when pulled together into a braid, render a full essay replete with curiosity, wonder and meaning.

Skill Level: All writing skill levels are welcome, from novice to established writers

Ages: Adult (18+)

When:  Saturday, January 16th and Saturday, January 23rd at 11am EST/8am PST

Tuition: Traditionally, this program’s tuition is $75. However, we are now offering a donation-based tuition to support community needs at this time. While the suggested donation is $75, please give what works best for you and what you think honors the labor involved. Roots. Wounds.
